You know what’s the worst thing in the world? When somebody believes that God doesn’t care about him, and that’s what happened when it says “נחמו נחמו עמי”. The Medrash says they wanted to kill ישעיה, they said “What? You’re telling us that we’re your nation and God threw us away?” and he immediately answered “יאמר אלוקיכם” no, Hashem is saying that you’re my nation, Hashem is saying that wherever you are, even if you’re in the worst place and I cast you away, or you sinned, you’re getting consequences, know you’re still עמי, you’re still my nation, I’m always there with you, I’m always going to be with you forever. And they accepted that נחמה. They accepted it, and that’s what keeps us going forever… Today.
